Retrieving the consumer credit report from the local bureau may require a different authentication process than retrieving the report via NovaConnect. This means the bureau may ask for different information and or different method to authenticate your identity. We understand this can cause confusion and frustration! Here are a few reasons why this can happen:
- Some of your personal information may have been misentered in NovaConnect. In order to retrieve your report via NovaConnect, you must pass the authentication phase required by the bureau. Before trying again, we encourage you to review the report you retrieved directly from the bureau. If you do find any inconsistencies with your answers and what the report is displaying follow up with the bureau to rectify any issues.
- Your credit file may have changed after you tried NovaConnect. For example, your request for a credit report through Nova Credit can sometimes show up as an inquiry.
When you are ready to try again, please reach out to the lender to request a new invite link. In your next attempt, we suggest you have the bureau report on hand while you are completing the NovaConnect flow to better facilitate your ability to complete the application in a manner that matches the bureau may have on file.
