Generally speaking, all applications to U.S. credit cards trigger a hard inquiry to your U.S. credit file. However, if you do not have a U.S. credit file yet, your inquiry will likely not be recorded by the U.S. bureaus and not harm your U.S. credit score.
If you’re from Australia, Canada, India or the UK, using your international credit history via Nova Credit in your credit card application, will result in a ‘soft’ pull, thereby not affecting your home country credit score.
If you’re from Mexico, using your international credit history via Nova Credit will result in a ‘hard’ pull, impacting your home country credit score.
